There are two main scenarios where you may see the word DEMO in Kontakt when you are loading your library.
Kontakt FULL Library
Some of our libraries require the full, paid version of Kontakt to run. If you are attempting to use one of these libraries in the free Kontakt PLAYER, you will see DEMO displayed. If you're unsure if this applies to your library, you can double check our compatibility chart here. For instructions on loading a Kontakt FULL library, you may refer to our instructions here.
Kontakt PLAYER Library
If you are seeing DEMO appear for one of our Kontakt PLAYER libraries, the most common cause would be the library not being authorised within Native Access. As a first step, please ensure that you have authorised your library in Native Access.
Due to errors within Native Access, you may still see DEMO appear for a correctly authorised library. If this is the case for you please try the following:
- Ensure Native Access is running on the latest version
- Reboot your computer (in certain cases this may need repeating several times for Native Access to correctly register your library).
If the above steps haven't worked, you can try the following steps we've outlined depending on your operating system:
MacOS
- Close Native Access
- Launch Activity Monitor
- Look for "NTKDaemon"
- Terminate the process
- Locate and open this file:
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/NTK/NTKDaemon.app
- Open Native Access again
Windows
- Close Native Access
- Open Task Manager
- Find NTKDaemon.exe
- Right-click on the process and select "Open File Location" (keep this window in the background)
- Return to Task Manager and end the "NTKDaemon.exe" process
- In the File Explorer window, open "NTKDaemon.exe"
- Open Native Access again
